Under the direct supervision of the Divisional Chief of Correctional Psychiatry, the Consultant Physician of Correctional psychiatry is responsible for supporting mental health care to patient on the Mental Health System (MHS) caseload at assigned clinical areas on evenings and weekends.
Reports to the Division Chief of Correctional Psychiatry
Must possess a Medical Doctor (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical college or university, required.
Must possess a valid License as a physician in the State of Illinois, required.
Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in the practice of Psychiatry, required.
Must possess a valid Illinois Controlled Substances license, required.
Must possess a valid licensure with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), required.
Experience working with underserved, transient populations and clinical co-morbidities) co-occuring mental health, substance abuse, and physical health problems
Experience in correctional setting
Must successfully meet the credentialing standards established by the Cook County Health and Hospitals System to include a State of Illinois MD license and any other license, certification, or specialized training, etc. no later than two (2) weeks prior to the candidate's start date.
