Vice President, Ambulatory Services Westchester Medical Center Health Network Valhalla, NY
Westchester Medical Center Health Network announces an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished healthcare executive to serve as Vice President, Ambulatory Services for their expanding outpatient network.
Spanning every adult and pediatric medical specialty, Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMC) is a 1,700-bed regional medical system serving New York’s Hudson Valley and beyond, encompassing a regional academic medical center, children’s hospital, community hospital, two inpatient behavioral health centers, homecare and numerous outpatient health and related services. Westchester Medical Center, the system’s 895-bed flagship hospital and Level I trauma center, has one of the highest case-mix indexes in the nation, caring for the most severely ill or injured patients in the nation. Complex services routinely offered at WMC include cardiac, renal and liver transplant, advanced neurosurgery, high risk obstetrics, complex orthopedic/bariatric, trauma, head and neck, oncological and general surgery procedures.
Reporting to the Chief Clinical Integration Officer, the Vice President will maintain broad responsibility for the ongoing development and management of the WMC Health Network Ambulatory Care Pavilion (ACP). Currently under construction with expected completion of spring of 2019, the ACP represents the health system’s first and most significant capital investment in outpatient services. The eight-level addition, adjoining Westchester Medical Center, will house radiology, invasive and non-invasive cardiology, medical and surgical services, eight state-of-the-art operating rooms dedicated to ambulatory cases and administrative offices. The VP will lead the administrative, financial, and operational activities of the Ambulatory Care Pavilion, collaborating with WMC Health Network’s clinical departments in supporting medical practice in the ACP and outpatient service areas to assure the highest standards of care and patient experience.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of operational and financial success in health system ambulatory operations, preferably in an academic medical center. Proven leadership working with faculty and department chairs to enhance productivity, advance quality and service metrics, standardize processes, and improve practice operations is required. The ability to work within a highly matrixed academic environment, develop and maintain strong relationships and create needed change is crucial. Excellent leadership skills with experience in lean processes and Cerner are highly preferred. An advanced degree in healthcare, business administration or finance is required.
