Hill Crest Behavioral Health Services is currently seeking an energetic and dynamic professional to join our team as a Nurse Manager - Full Time Monday - Friday .
The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of consumer care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and facility policy, goals and objectives. This position assists in contributing to the facility's philosophy, objectives, education, and quality improvement efforts, while providing supervision to the nursing staff assigned to his/her unit. Actively participates in hiring, orientation, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions of staff; provides leadership in maintaining standards for professional Nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supervises nursing and support staff in carrying out unit duties as assigned.
Participates in developing, interpreting, implementing, and maintaining nursing philosophy, objectives, standards, policies, and procedures.
Facilitates collaboration between nursing and medical staff to provide quality care and also with procedures and physical exams.
Supports, evaluates, and promotes a positive, professional, and therapeutic environment that protects patients' rights.
Assesses patients' physical needs and responds appropriately to crisis situations that decrease panic in disturbed patients.
Admits, discharges, and transfers patients based on physician's orders.
Reviews medical records and physician orders for accuracy and completion.
Adheres to all policies and procedures of the hospital including OSHA 29 C.F.R. Part 1910.1030 Blood-borne Pathogens, up to and including the appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of National Patient Safety Goals, and the policies and standards of accreditation entities including but not limited to Joint Commission, DMH, DHR, and CMS.
