The Medical Director-Addictions Psychiatrist provides overall supervision of all medical/clinical aspects of the services delivered at All Points North Lodge’s, integrated, mental health and substance abuse treatment programs. This individual is tasked to identify appropriate evidence-based or emerging best practices therapies to be employed by staff in delivering services. He/she provides oversight of all quality management initiatives. He/ she ensures coordination between the MH/SA services being delivered with primary physical healthcare providers. Responsible for consulting with primary healthcare providers on the clinical aspects of the consumers being served and the implications for those consumers physical healthcare needs. He/ she will coordinate with medical staff of other providers, e.g. state and community inpatient facilities. The Medical Director provides direct supervision of all other medical staff at All Points North Lodge.
Position Duties and Responsibilities – Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Overall supervision of all medical/clinical aspects of the services delivered. Medical Director will review and sign off on monthly leadership team meeting minutes.
Identifying appropriate evidence-based or emerging best practices therapies to be employed by staff in delivering services.
Oversight of all quality management initiatives.
Medical Director will review and sign off on all CQI Committee meeting minutes and the Bi-Annual Outcomes Management Reports.
Medical Director can attend any CQI or other sub-committee meeting as he is available.
Medical Director is oriented to the Annual Organizational and Performance Improvement plan, as well as the location of posted meeting minutes from CQI and sub-committees.
Ensuring the coordination between the MH/SA services being delivered with primary physical healthcare providers.
Consulting with primary healthcare providers on the clinical aspects of the consumers being served and the implications for those consumers physical healthcare needs. Discussion on this topic can be added to the agenda item on the monthly CEO\Clinical Director meeting minutes.
Coordinating with medical staff of other providers, e.g. state and community inpatient facilities. Medical staff will maintain clinical documentation of these events within the contact notes of the clinical record.
Supervision of all other medical staff at All Points North Lodge. Medical Director will hold a monthly meeting with Nursing staff to plan, implement and evaluate medical staff functions. Minutes of these meetings will be maintained by a designated attendee and kept in the CEO’s office for Audit review.

Education: This position requires a minimum of Medical Degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Ten years of progressive experience in a medical setting, prefer experience in substance use disorder and/or mental health treatment. Must possess 5 years of staff supervision. Experience in utilizing EMR systems. Must possess board certification by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Must also be licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of Colorado to serve as a Medical Director.
Special Skills & Knowledge: Exceptional verbal and written skills are required to effectively express ideas and views when (a) speaking to groups, staff, outside professionals and corporate officers; (b) for preparing written reports; for (c) clarification in supervising and delegating responsibility to department heads. Proficient skill set required to conceptualize potential impact and outcomes, design and strategize variable response options and implement effective quality improvement and\or risk response measures. Must be capable of relating to people in a manner to win confidence and establish support. Must possess initiative and judgment capabilities to organize and plan activities, systematize procedures, promote favorable public relations and make decisions affecting medical service delivery to consumers. Must be flexible to adjust to changing conditions and the various details of the job.
