Clinical Nursing Consultant II - Pediatrics/Pediatrics ICU) (Job ID #137604)
Conducts comprehensive, holistic wellness and illness assessments on pediatric patients using known or innovative evidence-based techniques, tools, and methods.
Identifies, collects and analyzes appropriate data when prescribing evidence-based interventions for pediatric patients that integrate the unique needs of individuals, families and groups.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary professionals to integrate evidence-based nursing interventions into a comprehensive plan of care to enhance pediatric patient outcomes.
Evaluates effects of pediatric nursing interventions for individuals and populations of patients/clients for clinical effectiveness, patient responses, efficiency, cost effectiveness, customer satisfaction and ethical considerations.
Uses/designs appropriate methods and instruments to assess knowledge, skills and practice. competencies of pediatric nurses and nursing personnel to advance the practice of nursing.
Identifies interpersonal, technological, environmental or system facilitators and barriers to implementing pediatric nursing practices that influence nurse-sensitive outcomes.
Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team to implement innovative evidence-based interventions that improve outcomes for pediatric patients.
Mentors nurses at all levels of the organization to acquire new skills and develop their careers.

Current license as a Professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse from State of IL required.
Master's Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Pediatrics or Doctorate in Nursing Practice required.
Minimum five (5) years of RN experience in relevant Pediatrics nursing experience required.
Current BLS/ACLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and other required unit-specific certifications required.
National Certification for Clinical Nurse Specialist or Clinical Nurse Leader certification required.
Proficient communication skills (oral and written) required.
Excellent attendance, interpersonal skills and work history required.
Must complete 50 hours of pediatric emergency/critical care continuing education within a 2-year period.
Level III high risk obstetrical experience highly preferred.
Excellent demeanor that promote effective interaction with multi-disciplinary health care providers, academic departments, vendors, and others.
Intermediate computer skills with the ability to become proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems with on-the-job training.
