The successful candidate will provide clinical and administrative leadership to the growing Pediatric Dentistry Division. The candidate will report to the Chair of Surgery and be responsible for recruitment and mentoring of providers, maintaining the highest benchmarks of clinical quality through a continual focus on performance improvement, ensuring strict adherence to compliance standards, developing research initiatives, and achieving outstanding patient experience results for the children and families we serve. The pediatric dentistry division is comprised of 18 dentists and is a mix of community based and employed providers.
This position is also responsible for providing clinical and operational leadership of the Akron Children’s Celeste Myers Pediatric Dental Clinic. The Clinic was established to meet the oral healthcare needs of low-income and special needs children and is a state-of-the-art four operatory facility. The all-employed staff consists of five pediatric dentists and a team of hygienists and support personnel. The clinic team works collaboratively to manage over 7,000 visits per year and provides much needed diagnostic, treatment and surgical interventions. Expansion of the rapidly growing Dental Clinic and creation of a pediatric dentistry residency are major focuses of this role.

Requirements: The incumbent will be board certified in Pediatric Dentistry with requisite fellowship training, and will have the ability to obtain an active dental license in the state of Ohio. He/she will have demonstrated leadership experience in clinical practice, research and medical education to attain the highest standards of patient care. |
