M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. We provide a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology (cancer care) services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation.
Our clinical staff apply innovative approaches to creating medical breakthroughs based their work with patients and on findings through research at the University of Minnesota. This has led to several firsts, including the first successful pediatric blood marrow transplant, infant heart transplant in Minnesota and cochlear ear implant surgery for a child.

This position will be working 56 hours every two weeks on the evening shift, 8 hour shifts, and every other weekend. The position is eligible for benefits.
This position is responsible for assisting the professional nurse in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and / or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, reordering and stocking supplies. The Emergency Department Specialist does not work autonomously but under the direction of a professional nurse. He / she may or may not be given a patient care assignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager / charge nurse. The Emergency Department Specialist position is responsible for coordinating all clerical functions on nursing station.
Able to perform Emergency Room Technician competencies for Pediatric patients under the delegation of an RN:
Ace wrap application.
Point of Care Testing: glucose and iSTAT
Application of Ankle gel splint.
Application of Knee Immobilizer.
Assist with Suture removal.
Assist with Traction splint application
Assist with Restraint application.
Assist with Catheterization (same sex).
Pelvic exam assistance with specimen collection(same sex).
